The Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis Foundation (RRPF) hosted the inaugural RRP Roundtable meeting in Bentonville, AR November 4-6, 2022. The RRPF assembled 18 national pediatric and adult RRP experts with the over-arching goals of improving the care for RRP patients and driving critical research for new treatments. Also in attendance were RRPF board members and representatives from the Benjamin Harry Peikin Foundation.
The experts participated in debates on important clinical practice topics. The RRPF anchored each of these discussions with the patient perspective by presenting the RRPF position prior to each debate. The goal of these debates was to present evidence supporting both sides of critical clinical issues in order to drive discussion and move toward alignment. The experts also participated in 4 different focused working groups and defined key next steps and action items for the group post-meeting. The RRPF is assembling working groups post-meeting focusing on bevacizumab, pulmonary disease, standard of care, research roadmap, and the collaborative research network.
The expectation is that the working groups will make significant progress toward the goals set forth at the inaugural meeting and present that progress at the 2024 RRP Roundtable meeting.
